Three Things Thursday — Mind-Bending Stories, Human Truths, and Ice Cream on Your Doorstep
Three things can change your Thursday. One thing can change your world.
Hello,
Here are three things that brought me joy, added value to my life, made me laugh, made me cry, solved a problem, or just made life a little more interesting. Basically, cool stuff worth passing along.
Show – Constellation [Prime] [AppleTV]
Constellation blew my mind in the best way. It’s one of those shows where you start off thinking, Wait… what exactly is happening? And then, episode by episode, the pieces start to click, and suddenly you’re all in.
It’s sci-fi, but not with the usual noise and spectacle. It’s quieter, more intimate, strangely hypnotic. And once you find your footing, it becomes absolutely gripping. The story twists in ways that made me pause the screen just to process what I’d seen. The characters feel both familiar and just slightly… off. In the eerie, intriguing way that stays with you.
A year after watching it, I still think about certain scenes. Certain choices. The way the show plays with reality and identity. It’s the kind of series that sneaks into your thoughts long after it ends.
If you’re in the mood for something smart, unsettling, and genuinely original - something that will make you think, rewind, and maybe question your own reality just a little - Constellation is absolutely worth the ride.
Podcast – Heavyweight
If you want a podcast that hits you straight in the heart, Heavyweight is it. The human element in this show is extraordinary. Each episode follows someone trying to untangle a moment from their past - a regret, a fractured relationship, a conversation they never had the courage to finish. And while not every story lands neatly, every single one lands deeply.
What makes Heavyweight so powerful is how real it feels. The stories are raw, imperfect, and unbelievably human. Jonathan Goldstein brings a blend of humor, warmth, and gentle curiosity that disarms people in a way few storytellers can. You find yourself smiling in awe at how honest and vulnerable people can be when someone truly listens.
Some episodes will make you laugh. Some might make you tear up. All of them will make you feel a little more connected to the strange, beautiful mess of being human. If you want a podcast that stays with you long after the final minute, Heavyweight is absolutely worth your time.
A Little Joy – Graeter’s Ice Cream
This one deserves a huge shout-out to my friends Jon and Robin Goldstein (a different Jon Goldstein from the Heavyweight podcast), who surprised us one day with a box of Graeter’s ice cream shipped straight to our front door. That was the magic of it. Ice cream delivery. Not a card, not a gift basket — a frozen box of happiness sitting on our doorstep. I still remember opening it and thinking, This is incredible.
Graeter’s has mastered this process. The packaging is perfect, the ice cream arrives rock-solid, and the flavors… they’re on another level. Rich, creamy, small-batch, and seasonal - made with this old-world French Pot method that gives it a texture unlike anything you can find in a grocery store.
And that one act of generosity sparked a chain reaction. Every few months, I send a 6-pack or 12-pack to a friend, no holiday or birthday required. Just to create that same moment - opening the door, seeing a mysterious frozen box, smiling before you even know what’s inside.
In fact… someone reading this is getting a box of Graeter’s delivered to their doorstep today. Enjoy.
There are very few things in life as universally joyful as surprise ice cream delivered to your doorstep. And Graeter’s has turned that simple idea into something unforgettable.
Here’s to another week of small joys and simple discoveries.
Always ❤️📚💡
PS: Today I’m getting my blood drawn to check in on my cholesterol and LDL levels. I’ll share the results, and the progress of my whole experiment, in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
Three Book Thursday is free, but there are many costs to create these posts each week. So, can you do me a favor?
If you find value here, please support the newsletter.
Please share Three Book Thursday with a friend, college, family member, or post it to your socials. I’m working hard to grow this audience, but let’s be honest—you’re probably better at it than I am.
Or, do both!

The Heavyweight reccomendation really resonates with me. There's something powerful about revisiting those unfinished conversations from our past. I think we all carry a few of those moments that linger, and the idea of someone helping to untangl them is both terrifying and oddly comforting. It's intresting how much courage it takes to face what we left behind.
